MIEL DE CANNE À SUCRE
Jean MOUEIX and Alexandre SIRECH designed this dream, placing their faith at the very heart of it, faith in the strength of their culture and the excellence of their country, France. They have made this dream come true with a crazy and audacious bet. It was born from a will to create, innovate, and push the boundaries: Producing superior SPIRITS and WINES, with all of their skills and know-how, mixing terroirs and raw materials. They have built this dream though strong values and the wish to establish a virtuous circle around their products, from suppliers to partners through retailers and customers. Some stories are meant to be told, dreams must become true, otherwise they are doomed to remain no more than beautiful ideas. The rum was born in the Caribbean's, an imaginary world of pirates, hidden treasures, paradisiac beaches and slaves… But the rum is much more than that, it is also diversity of styles and flavors, complexity, a blend of European and Caribbean cultures: British style rum (Trinidad & Tobago), French style rhum (Martinique) and Spanish style ron (Cuba, Guatemala). The British style rum is produced in old British colonies. This includes countries as diverse as Guyana, Jamaica or Trinidad. They claim to have been the first to produce rum: it is thought that the spirit was ‘born’ in Barbados. British rums are white and aged, the result of an older tradition: The rums naturally aged as they were transported from the Caribbean all the way back to Britain, and producers soon realized this ageing process during transportation added to the rum’s quality. British style rums is clearly influenced by the pot still: Medium to full bodied, with a tropical, fruity flavor. The creators of Overproof or Navy Rums. The French style Agricole is among the three rum styles the most homogenous. Islands like Martinique and Guadeloupe, where rhum agricole is produced are still French territories today. Rhum agricole is distilled from fermented sugarcane juice, instead of the more widely used and refined molasses. Distillation takes places in a single column still. A vegetal aromatic distillate with green leaf & floral notes. For this reason, rhum producers experiment with different sugarcane varieties, which might be less relevant when making rum with refined molasses. Spanish style light rum is created in Cuba fermented molasses are distilled in a continuous distillation process giving a more delicate character. This delicate distillate is blended with water and superfine alcohol and then aged in American white oak casks. Spanish Rum is mostly aged, fruity, subtle, elegant. EMBARGO is the FIRST Rum that blends all the styles, taking the Rum category to a higher level. Versatility for all the rum cocktails styles: From Classics to Tiki´s.
